The Institute of Mathematical Sciences announces a workshop, aimed at students and scientists at all levels, on the use of Bayesian statistics in various areas of science. The goal is to present these methods in a unified framework, and their applications in various areas, from biology to climate science to image processing to machine learning and the mining of 'big data' ; and to explore new areas of research and collaboration in these fields.

Venue : The venue for the workshop is the beautiful Hotel Atithi, a 10 minute walk from the sea-front of the historical town in Pondicherry. Registration is limited to 75 participants. Accommodation for the first 50 participants will be arranged at the Hotel Atithi. The remaining participants will have to make their own arrangements in nearby hotels, which offer a broad range of tariffs. Lunch and refreshments will be provided for all registered participants. There is no registration fee.
